UK can’t deport foreign criminals

Aside from the horsemeat scandal, there’s another story that highlights the failures of the EU’s regulatory machine. The Mail shows how powerless the government is to deport foreign criminals. A toxic mix of EU and human rights legislation (guess where from?) prevented the UK deporting those who took part in the riots of 2011.

Let’s remember the riots of 2011 were some of the worst disturbances we’ve ever seen in Britain. For these people to come here, commit these crimes and be sent down at the taxpayers’ expense – rather than being deported – is a disgrace.

No other country would be daft enough to keep foreign criminals on the public purse. So why should we in the UK?
