We say, no. Well, not while the UK is a member of the European Union.
This is yet another poor Eastern European nation of over 7 million people and GDP per capita around a mere $10,000. They have much to gain from EU membership. They can expect to be a net beneficiary of EU spending.
The bad news for us is that our contributions will likely increase. As we paid for infrastructure projects in Eastern Europe before, we will do so again. More and more taxpayers’ money will go East. Population flows are likely to head West. And while we are in the EU there’s not a thing we can do about it.
The Great British Public is running out of patience.
