Adam Afriyie’s amendment to Wharton’s EU Referendum Bill, which attempted to change the date of the referendum to October 2014, has suffered a unfortunate defeat, winning only 17 votes. These are the 16 Tory rebels who believe the public deserves to have their say before the next general election:

  • Adam Afriyie
  • Peter Bone
  • Andrew Bridgen
  • Douglas Carswell
  • Philip Davies
  • Nadine Dorries
  • Philip Hollobone
  • Adam Holloway
  • Stuart Jackson
  • Chris Kelly
  • Julian Lewis
  • Stephen McPartland
  • Mark Reckless
  • Laurence Robertson
  • Andrew Rosindell
  • Martin Vickers

One Labour MP also voted for the amendment:

  • Mike Gapes

If you share our belief that we need a referendum as soon as possible to get us out of the EU, and your MP is not one of those listed above, please send them a letter demanding an explanation as to why they did not vote in favour of the amendment.
