The instruction manual of the EU, the Treaty of Rome, isn’t shy about its ambitions. It wants full political union. So you can take those opt-outs, those ‘safeguards’, and rip them up. They’re not worth the paper they’re written on.
Banking Union isn’t enough to save the Euro. Only full Union is on the agenda and this is what they want at the European Council.
